SWIRE Chinese Language School

Swire CLF Crystal Palace RedAs a SWIRE Chinese Language School, we are part of the SWIRE Chinese Language Centre London.

The Swire Chinese Language Foundation is an initiative to improve the quality, quantity and reach of Chinese language teaching in the UK.

Established in 2016, the HCACP Chinese team delivers teaching and learning to more than 150 students across Key Stage 3 and 4. We are expecting nearly 40 Year 9 students to begin their GCSE Chinese preparation in September this year.

Our annual China trip is due to embark later in June to Shanghai and Suzhou, where our partner school is located. We are also planning to host 50 Chinese students in July via the Chinese Integration Programme, which is a great opportunity for UK and Chinese students to develop their cultural awareness and understanding.

In addition, the MFL Chinese team runs regular extra-curricular activities for students, including Mandarin Club for KS3 enrichment, cultural projects and trips to the British Film Institute. We hope to hold many more exciting activities both within the MFL department and outside of school in the next academic year.
