Today marks the last day of Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re learning how to recognise when someone might be experiencing bullying. Look out for changes in mood, behaviour, confidence, or friendships and always speak to a trusted adult if you’re worried about someone.#HCACP pic.twitter.com/ECnGYoQi13

Celebrating Community

Community is at the heart of our mission, reflected in our five CORE values. With over 100 languages spoken within our walls, we take immense pride in celebrating our diverse culture and contributing positively to humanity.

Our charitable partners

Each year, our Academy community actively engages with local, national, and international charities, including Living Well Bromley, Blueprint for All, and Afrinspire. These partnerships allow us to make a meaningful impact and foster a spirit of giving amongst our students.

  • Living Well Bromley: this local charity is dedicated to ensuring that individuals have access to food, guidance and support, empowering them to live life to the fullest.
  • Blueprint for All: formerly known as the Stephen Lawrence Charity, Blueprint for All works tirelessly to create an inclusive society where young people from all backgrounds can thrive in their careers.
  • Afrinspir: a UK-registered charity, Afrinspire focuses on supporting communities in Uganda, particularly children whose education has been severely affected by the pandemic and ongoing economic challenges.

Student leadership in action

Our prefects and student council play a pivotal role in leading inspiring assemblies each year, setting themes, and organising events to raise funds and awareness for our chosen charities. Their dedication and leadership are instrumental in driving our community initiatives.

Achievements this year

So far this year, we are proud to share some of our accomplishments:

  • We have raised over £900 for Blueprint for All and Afrinspire through various fundraising events, including a basketball match, book sale, Christmas jumper day, and multiple raffles this year.
  • IMG 20250110 WA0038Our food bank collection (pictured) for Living Well Bromley has been a tremendous success. The four faculties engaged in a friendly competition to see who could collect the most non-perishable food items. The battle was particularly fierce between the Communications Faculty and the Science and Technology Faculty, showcasing our students' commitment to helping those in need.
  • Lower school and sixth form students have volunteered their time to work with local primary schools, helping to inspire and engage young people in sports.
  • Our student leadership groups organise fund raising for different communities around the world in times of crisis.

At Harris City Academy Crystal Palace, we believe that by working together and supporting one another, we can create a brighter future for our community and beyond. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our efforts this year; your generosity and support make a significant difference!

Any student wishing to commit to leading a charity event should email owusut@harriscrystalpalace.org.uk.
