KS4 Results 2nd Place Nationally!

HCACP moves up from 4th to 2nd place against similar schools nationally for Summer 2013 Key Stage 4 results.

This year the Academy celebrated the Key Stage 4 results (Summer 2013) of our first cohort to have been admitted to the Academy under the non-selective Academy Admissions criteria having changed from the previous City Technology College (CTC) admissions criteria and procedures (Summer 2012 cohort were the last cohort to be admitted under the selective CTC admissions arrangements).

At Key Stage 4, 83% of students achieved 5A*-C grades including English and Maths and 96% gained at least 5A*- C grades. 40% of students achieved the EBacc, nearly double that of the national average. They are the result of the very hard work and efforts of the students themselves with the support of our dedicated staff.

On Thursday 23rd January 2014 the Department for Education (DfE) published the national results for all secondary schools at Key Stage 4 and we are delighted that Harris City Academy Crystal Palace remains the highest performing non-selective, co-educational state school in Croydon but also that we have moved up from 4th position in Summer 2012 to 2nd position nationally for Summer 2013 results in the DfE comparison against similar schools. The Academy’s Value Added figure also moved to a positive position showing the considerable progress students made from entry in Year 7 to getting their Key Stage 4 qualifications in Summer 2013.

The new curriculum model in place is already showing further increases in results expected for Summer 2014 with the second year of the non-selective Academy admissions criteria in place.

Further details can be found on the Department for Education website.
