Cultural Insight - The Oscars 2021

OscarsThe Oscars is a prestigious award show celebrating all areas of film production including actors, directors, writers, editors and more.

Last year, British film 1917 won three awards including Best Cinematography. Cinematography is the art and craft of making motion pictures by capturing a story visually. 

Watch this behind-the-scenes clip which explains some of the production processes used to achieve high levels of cinematography, including how the director skilfully manages to make the opening scene feel like it is shot in one continuous take.

Duke of Edinburgh Award - Key Dates

The Academy is incredibly proud to be a Directly Licensed Centre for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, offering Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels to all students from Year 9 through to Year 13. Read more about HCACP's involvement with DofE on our Personal Development Curriculum page. 

Bronze expeditions in the North Down: key dates

Raising and giving
