The Harris Experience Lectures

As part of the Harris Experience the Harris Sixth Form has scheduled a number of lectures for 2015.  Kicking off the series last night was a lecture from prominent economic historian and Supernumerary Fellow of Wolfson College Oxford, Mr Philip Kay.

Over the course of the lecture Mr Kay sought to shed light on how Rome in the first and second centuries BC became a coherent economic entity experiencing real per capita economic growth, implementing investment mechanisms, construction, manufacturing and drew parallels with some of the fiscal turbulence we ourselves experienced in the last decade.

Thanks to Philip Kay for sharing his research with us in such an entertaining way.  This lecture was a fascinating introduction to the history of capitalism and we eagerly await the next in the series.
