Writing and Designing High Quality Assessments in Geography

Understanding the recent assessment changes in geography are a vital competency area for both the new GCSE and GCEs in geography.  Geographers require skills in the designing, writing and marking of AO1-AO4 questions relevant to their subject level.  But the development of “assessment toolkits” geography is not merely a focus on specifications and AOs, instead it’s a broader pallet of skills and competencies that include language, literacy, technical interpretation, as well as validity and reliability.

This course will help participants understand the importance of testing in the context of validity in geography through supporting high quality geography formative assessment and feedback
