Raising and Giving (RAG) & Volunteering - £1,333 raised!

Giving is not just about donating, its about making a difference! This year was no exception for the HCACP community, as our Prefects and Student Council thought about how we could make a real difference to young people.

We chose to support Blueprint for All, the new name for the Stephen Lawrence Charity. Blueprint for All works with young people and communities to create an inclusive society in which everyone can thrive in a career, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or background.

We also chose Afrinspire, a UK registered charity which works with communities in Uganda to support children whose education has suffered significantly due to the lockdown restrictions over the past two years.

From cinema screening to fun run

Although some of our events (such as the post-16 basketball match, the bag packing at Waitrose, and the students and staff raffle) had to be cancelled due to the increase in Covid-19, the HCACP community was still able to raise a total of £1,333 by the end of December 2021.

The prefects worked in collaboration with the Humanities department to organise a cinema screening as part of our Black History Month celebration and raised over £300 in October.

In December, staff kicked off the final week of our charity events by running (5K, 10K and a marathon) or walking - participating in RunThrough.co.uk in Crystal Palace on December 12th.

Thank you to our staff for being such role models and supporting our charity events. The JustGiving page created for the run raised £329 by the end of the run. Thank you to all who supported our teachers.

We welcome all support for any of our fundraising events via this link.

Here's how the money was raised...

Foodbank donations

All the non-perishable foods and toiletries donated will be sent to Bromley Food Bank as part of our contribution to our local charity this Christmas.

Here is a picture of some of the non-perishable food items donated by our students towards Bromley Food Bank.

We are extremely grateful to all our staff and students for getting involved in all the various activities and fundraising schemes.

Watch out for our plans for the spring term as we continue with our quest to support young people. We are proud to make a difference!
