Admissions Consultation

1st December 2016

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace – Admissions Consultation

The Governing Body are consulting on proposals to make changes to the admissions arrangements with effect from the 2018/19 year of entry.

The Academy is proposing to continue with banded admissions with applicants being allocated to bands for entry based on ability and the intake then reflecting a spread of abilities.  But within the criteria for allocation of applicants to offer places in each band it is intending to introduce a new criteria – giving priority to children of staff at the school.

We feel that it is important that we should recognise the commitment of the staff to the School and allow them to have priority for their children too if they wish them to be educated here.

The Governing Body is also consulting on the admissions criteria to its Sixth Form –specifying the new GCSE grades required for entry to courses.  New GCSE grades are being introduced and the entry criteria need to change to reflect this

If you have any comments on these proposals please write by Thursday 12th January 2017 to Tammy Kiernan, Admissions Officer, at the Academy address; or email to KiernanT@harriscrystalpalace.org.uk.
