Chemistry
The study of chemistry forms an important part of KS3 and KS4 courses and is also as a separate A-level subject. In Year 7 students learn about chemical reactions and the composition of substances. In Year 8 they study atoms and elements and how rocks are formed.. In Year 9 the course includes reactivity of substances and environmental topics.
At KS4 most students study chemistry as in integral part of their two GCSE courses. The chemistry modules include topics on industrial chemistry, the earth, the structure of atoms and chemical reactivity. One group of our most able students take additional modules and thereby follow a separate chemistry GCSE course..
