Physics
Physics is also an essential part of our KS3 syllabus. In year 7 our pupils find out about electrical circuits, forces and our solar system. In year 8 this is extended to investigating the topics of heating and cooling, magnets and electromagnets, light and sound. Finally in year 9 the KS3 work is consolidated and extended including topics on energy and electricity, gravity and space, speeding up and pressure and moments.
At KS4 for most of our pupils physics is an integral part of their GCSE modular science courses. The physics modules cover topics such as electricity, energy, waves, communication, atoms, space, forces and motion. However, our most able students take a separate physics GCSE course which includes additional modular topics covering communications and particles in more detail.
