History

History is a popular subject at all key stages. Students follow the National Curriculum covering British, African-American, and World history. The majority of students achieve Level 5 and above at Key Stage 3. At GCSE and A Level we also achieve excellent results and study a range of modules and units ranging from Medicine Through Time, Tudor England and Civil Rights in the USA. Students are taught many skills standing them in good stead for any career. Lessons are interactive with a wide variety of activities, including role plays, debating and presentations. The History Department organises many trips and curriculum days. Trips include Rochester Castle, Hampton Court and the Imperial War Museum. Holocaust Day each year is particularly successful and involves talks and workshops from Holocaust Survivors.
