Art and Design
The Art and Design Area at Harris is a stimulating and vibrant environment where all students learn to make aesthetic and practical decisions, becoming actively involved in making visual Art. We aim to encourage creativity, imagination and students use a variety of materials to communicate what they see, feel and think. They also explore ideas and meanings in the work of other artists and learn about the diverse roles and functions of art in contemporary life, and in different times and cultures. At KS4, we offer the GCSE Single Award and the GCSE Double Award. At KS5, we offer AS and A2 levels and the BTEC National Diploma.
Students' work from all years is displayed around the Academy and there is an annual exhibition of all KS4 and KS5 work in June.
