Arts
Subjects within the Arts Faculty are English & Media, Physical Education, Music and Art & Design.
The Arts Faculty is fundamentally committed to developing the creative abilities of our students; enabling and empowering them to communicate effectively through the mediums of art, writing, drama, dance, music and sport.
Each year we organise and run a wide variety of theatre trips, art gallery trips and two Disability Sports Days for Croydon Special Schools. We offer enrichment activities in Art, Dance, Drama and Music for students at the end of the Academy day. We continue to participate in the School’s Shakespeare Festival, a Mock Trial Competition, public speaking events and produce a Post 16 magazine.
Additionally, a member of the PE team also runs the highly successful Mediterranean trips during the summer holidays. This entails water sport events plus a variety of cross curricular activities, including French language, PSHE and Geography. We also work with Croydon Music Service in delivering peripatetic music lessons to individual students. Each year we hold an annual
Christmas Carol Concert at St John's Church and host an evening of Music during the summer term. In June we host our annual Art and Design exhibition, where an array of impressive student work is on display to students, parents, staff and governors.
We continue to be proud of the academic, creative and sporting achievements of students within the Arts Faculty as well as their high standards of work and behaviour.
